Edward Runci Despite Runci's obvious talent in the art of Pinup, he is something of an unknown when it comes to furnishing details on him. Sometimes it appears that if an artist doesn't get taken on by one of the larger calendar producers, their work and information relating to them can get diluted over time. One thing to be sure of though, was that Runci's artwork was every bit as good as his contemporaries. He was known to have done at least one set of images for a calendar company, and rumour has it that his wife may also have created similar works. Ironically, much of his artwork shares similar technical aspects to other artists, yet there is no tangible link to show he worked with them. Put another way, the works of Macpherson and TN Thompson could be seen to develop an overlap area due to their working together, while it appears Runci just developed his style without such links. Many of his images are of the candid moment style, showing his models either at rest, or in some cases in a moment of awkwardness (the fishing hook in a bathing costume being one such image).
