Elliot's best known works were done in gouache, with smaller sketches
pencilled, Mixing the different mediums in the same artwork to create an image
that often gave an insight into how the model was created ,whether it be a
duplicate of the main image, a completely different pose, or even occasionally
disjointed aspects of the image (eyes, mouth etc).
As an apprentice, he worked with some of the most well known pinup artists,
Sundblom, Elvgren and Ballantyne to name but three.
Elliot illustrated a number of artists sketchpads for Brown and Bigelow
around 1950 and went on to create work for both the advertising industry and
various national magazines.
