Michael Mobius (1968)
Mobius was born in East Germany, his work in the painting of the female form being his chosen style almost immediately he began painting. He unashamedly says that he was initially led by the artwork produced by Sorayama, though his view is that he has changed his style accordingly, and although many of his works resemble those of Hajime, he has his own differences in style. After the wall was knocked down, he, like many other east German's, was exposed to the movies and images of the west. During this newfound experience he came to admire the movie posters of the period. This led him to contact Renato Casaro, though he didn't expect to receive a response. Casaro however, not only replied, but also allowed him to meet, further to this Mobius was able to watch Casaro at work, something that again changed his style, this time adding a more atmospheric look to his work. Light and shadow becoming more prominent in his art work.
